The Samsung Galaxy S24 phone is said to be equipped with satellite connectivity capability. The new model is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of next year. What else did we learn?

The Samsung Galaxy S24 is said to have satellite connectivity

According to the director of Samsung’s chip division, Park Yong-in, who spoke at the show SEDEX 2023, the new Galaxy S24 series of mobile phones will have satellite connectivity. He revealed that the South Korean company has already taken the steps needed to enable the new phone to communicate with satellites.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series of smartphones is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2024, and these phones are likely to be the first to support this new feature for the company.

A significant step in development

Adding support for satellite communication would definitely be a really significant upgrade for the Galaxy S24. The new feature would allow users to stay connected even in areas without cellular coverage. By connecting to a satellite, they would still be able to make calls and send text messages (probably).

Recent speculation suggests that the Galaxy S24 series will offer both a Snapdragon and Exynos chipset. In conclusion, the South Korean manufacturer is not the first company to add support for satellite communication to its smartphones. Last year, Apple showed off this functionality when it unveiled it with the iPhone 14.
